4 hours            moderate fitness level            vegetarian/vegan options

Cooking is one of our greatest passions and we love experimenting with new flavours and ingredients, combining traditional Khmer dishes with influences from other Asian and Western cuisines. Are you curious about what Cambodian food is like and would like to learn to cook it yourself back home? Then this is the perfect tour for you. The high quality of the food we prepare is important to us, so we use organic produce whenever available.

After a traditional Cambodian breakfast at the market, we will then tour the bustling and always changing market to find the best fresh produce and ingredients for our cooking class. See and taste new, exotic fruit, see how different some of the local produce is from what you know from back home, and be amazed by the sheer variety of what you can find at Cambodian markets.

Back in our kitchen, we will teach you the basics of preparing traditional Khmer food and how to prepare 3 – 4 authentic dishes of your choice. In previous classes we have prepared crispy fried fish, fresh spring-rolls, traditional Khmer curries, flavourful noodle soups, all kinds of stir fries, typical Cambodian amok and many delicious and spicy sauces and condiments. Are you a vegetarian or vegan? No problem. We have a number of delicious vegetarian and vegan recipes for you to choose from.

Our cooking class is a real hands-on experience: you’ll learn how to prepare exotic vegetables and fruits, try new techniques to prepare meat, fish and tofu, and taste new flavours you’ve never tried before. This is a great opportunity to learn about Kampot and the region through its unique cuisine.
